All content on this website is protected by law and may not be reproduced, distributed or transmitted without the written consent of GEM Direction Board. Any violation of this principle constitutes a crime and is punishable by copyright law in force in Portugal and abroad.
 
All photographs presented on this website and in the GEM Photo Gallery are the property of GEM and their authors when identified, and may not be used without written authorization from GEM Direction Board.
 
 
PRIVACY POLICY
 
Use of the website www.gem.pt implies acceptance of this privacy agreement. GEM Direction Board reserves the right to change this agreement without prior notice, so it is recommended that you regularly consult our privacy policy.
 
Collection of User Information
GEM collects information from users of the gem.pt website only when they enter their data in one of the information subscription and pre-registration forms for GEM membership, or when requesting help available on the gem.pt website.
 
Information Collected
GEM collects the personal information provided by users when filling out the forms indicated above. Personal information may include name, email, contact telephone number and/or others, and will always be voluntarily provided by users when they fill out the forms available on the GEM website (subscription to our disclosures or other registrations).
 
How Information is Collected
The personal information collected by GEM is done through Google Forms made available online by Google. GEM does not use cookies nor does it identify users who visit the gem.pt website, but the website uses services from external organizations, such as weather information, indication of upcoming activities, Google forms or other services embedded in GEM pages that may use cookies in order to improve the performance and browsing experience of users, who can refuse or delete these cookies through their browser settings. However, by disabling cookies the user may affect or even disable these services, and may limit their browsing experience on the gem.pt website.
 
How the Collected Information is Treated
All personal information collected by GEM will be treated lawfully and fairly, in accordance with national legislation, and managed with guaranteed confidentiality, and will only be used for the purpose of administrative management of GEM. The information collected is only that which is strictly necessary and relevant to the intended purpose. GEM processes personal information in security systems that prevent unauthorized persons from consulting, modifying, destroying or adding data, and that allow for the detection of intentional or unintentional information deviations. GEM is committed to respecting professional confidentiality in relation to the data processed.
 
Cookies
Cookies are small files that websites tell your browser to save on your computer when you first visit them. Cookies allow us to know how often the user visits the pages, helping to know the type of information that interests that user. Limitation of Use of Collected Information
All personal information collected about the user will only be used for the purpose for which it is intended.The data collected will be used to manage permissions for the purpose of sending promotional communications via email, managing GEM member records, or managing registrations for GEM activities.The email address that users provide may be used to send general or private disclosure information to the user, as a means of communication between GEM Direction Board and the user, or for communication between one of those responsible for GEM activities directly with the user.
GEM reserves the right to retain personal information for a period of 3 months after termination of the relationship, whether member or non-member.
 
Links to Third Party Sites
The gem.pt website has links to other websites from external organizations because we believe they may contain useful information or tools for our users. Our privacy policy does not apply to these third-party websites, so if the user visits any of these websites from gem.pt, they should read their privacy policy. GEM is not responsible for the privacy policy or content on these third party websites.
 
Online Signatures and Information Sharing
GEM allows online subscription to the publication of activities and queries for registrations that are sent via email to its members and subscribers of these publications. If the user no longer wishes to receive these disclosures, they simply need to follow the instructions to “unsubscribe” which should be found in the body of each email.
Our email sending policy does not allow us to share, sell, exchange or authorize other entities to use any personal information of our users/partners/subscribers of this disclosure for commercial purposes, with the exception of entities whose partnership is within the scope of an activity for which the user has signed up.
 
GEM only shares the personal data of participants in activities that are carried out in partnership with external entities, such as WIND.
 
By registering for one of the activities carried out in partnership with third parties, you will be giving your permission for us to share this information only with these partners of ours.
 
User Rights
As holders of personal data, all users of the GEM website are guaranteed, at any time and free of charge, the right to access, rectify, update, limit and erase part or all of their personal data (except for data that is essential for registration to participate in GEM activities duly identified in the Member Registration Form as being mandatory or necessary to comply with legal obligations to which the data controller is subject), and to withdraw consent without this compromising the lawfulness of the processing carried out under that consent, as well as the right to data portability.
 
Right to Opt-Out of Receiving Disclosures from GEM
Subscribers to GEM disclosures may exercise their right to opt-out of receiving these disclosures in the following ways: 
(a) By following the unsubscribe instructions included in each disclosure email;
(b) Contacting GEM via email geral@gem.pt
It is important to note that, even after GEM's disclosures have been cancelled, you may continue to receive information essential to your relationship as a GEM member or participant, namely confirmations of registration for GEM activities or notifications regarding activities in which you have registered.
 
Access and Rectification
Any user has the right to request access to their personal data, simply by sending a request to that effect via email geral@gem.pt.
