Ant\u00f3nio encontra-se o cabe\u00e7o dos Alecrineiros, assinalado pelo v\u00e9rtice geod\u00e9sico com o mesmo nome. Este cabe\u00e7o \u00e9 j\u00e1 bem conhecido da comunidade espeleol\u00f3gica nacional e internacional, pela abund\u00e2ncia de algares. O plano contempla tamb\u00e9m os aspetos geol\u00f3gicos das cavidades estudadas.<br \/>\nDada a extens\u00e3o do Planalto de Sto. Ant\u00f3nio, alvo dos trabalhos do grupo de S\u00e3o Bento, o GEM, em colabora\u00e7\u00e3o com a WIND, optou por trabalhar sistematicamente uma \u00e1rea limitada do planalto, e apenas depois seguir para outras zonas. Ant\u00f3nio. A localidade mais pr\u00f3xima \u00e9 Moita do A\u00e7or, da freguesia de S\u00e3o Bento, concelho de Porto de M\u00f3s. A partir da Moita do A\u00e7or pode-se aceder atrav\u00e9s de alguns estrad\u00f5es \u00e0 eleva\u00e7\u00e3o dos Alecrineiros.<br \/>\nGeomorfologia<br \/>\nO planalto de St. Ant\u00f3nio \u00e9 (Manuppela et al, 2000), uma unidade geomorfol\u00f3gica de forma triangular, cujo v\u00e9rtice se desenvolve para Norte, constitu\u00eddo por superf\u00edcies altas limitadas por escarpas vigorosas, a ocidente e a oriente e uma vertente meridional que desce mais progressivamente at\u00e9 ao bordo sul do maci\u00e7o.<br \/>\nTodo o per\u00edmetro do planalto \u00e9 delimitado por falhas \u00e0s quais deve a sua posi\u00e7\u00e3o elevada, em rela\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 envolvente.<br \/>\nA superf\u00edcie do Planalto de St. Ant\u00f3nio \u00e9 aplanada, inclinando ligeiramente para Sul, apresentando, segundo Fernandes Martins, 1949, vest\u00edgios de uma antiga superf\u00edcie de aplana\u00e7\u00e3o fluvial, posteriormente trabalhada pela eros\u00e3o c\u00e1rsica e normal.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 500px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/gem.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Fig.4.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/gem.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Fig.4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"373\" \/><\/a><figcaption style=\"color: #444444; font-family: Questrial; font-size: 14px; background-color: #f0f0f0; padding: 8px;\">Figura 4 \u2013 Mapa hipsom\u00e9trico do MCE. Autor: Fernandes Martins, 1949<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A superf\u00edcie do planalto apresenta v\u00e1rias formas t\u00edpicas do relevo c\u00e1rsico como campos de lapi\u00e1s, a uvala de Ch\u00e3o das Pias e um n\u00famero consider\u00e1vel de dolinas segundo Manuppella et al, 2000.<br \/>\nO v\u00e9rtice geod\u00e9sico marca o topo da eleva\u00e7\u00e3o dos Alecrineiros com uma altitude de 541m. A eleva\u00e7\u00e3o alonga-se na direc\u00e7\u00e3o Norte-Sul sendo, limitada a Norte e a Sul por vales de direc\u00e7\u00e3o grosseira WNW-ESSE, a Oeste pela vertente abrupta que desce para o polje da Mendiga e a Este pela depress\u00e3o onde se situa a localidade de Moita do A\u00e7or. O topo da eleva\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 relativamente plano com as cotas, a manterem-se quase sempre acima dos 500m, com alguns pontos a ultrapassarem os 540m, aqui e ali, a fazer lembrar uma superf\u00edcie de aplana\u00e7\u00e3o, conforme referido por Fernandes Martins, 1949.<br \/>\nA superf\u00edcie da eleva\u00e7\u00e3o dos Alecrineiros apresenta um relevo marcadamente c\u00e1rsico, do qual se destacam v\u00e1rias formas exoc\u00e1rsicas, saber: lapi\u00e1s de mesa, delineado por uma bem marcada rede de fraturas, abundantes dolinas e uvalas, que se encaixam na superf\u00edcie aplanada.<br \/>\nEnquadramento Geol\u00f3gico<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 500px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/gem.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Fig.5-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/gem.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Fig.5-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"321\" \/><\/a><figcaption style=\"color: #444444; font-family: Questrial; font-size: 14px; background-color: #f0f0f0; padding: 8px;\">Figura 5 \u2013 Extrato da Folha 27-A da Carta Geol\u00f3gica de Portugal \u00e0 escala 1\/50000 com localiza\u00e7\u00e3o das grutas. Autoria: Pedro Robalo<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Com base na an\u00e1lise da Folha 27-A - Vila Nova de Our\u00e9m da Carta Geol\u00f3gica de Portugal \u00e0 escala 1\/50000, observa-se que a eleva\u00e7\u00e3o se desenvolveu nas forma\u00e7\u00f5es de Calc\u00e1rios m\u00edcriticos da Serra de Aire e Calc\u00e1rios Biocl\u00e1sticos do Coda\u00e7al.<br \/>\nAmbas as forma\u00e7\u00f5es est\u00e3o datadas do Batoniano (andar do Jur\u00e1ssico m\u00e9dio). Os Calc\u00e1rios m\u00edcriticos da Serra de Aire t\u00eam como litologia dominante, (Manuppella et al., 2000) calc\u00e1rios micriticos, com uma espessura da ordem dos 300-400m. Os Calc\u00e1rios Biocl\u00e1sticos do Coda\u00e7al t\u00eam como litologia predominante, (Manupella et al., 2000) calc\u00e1rios biocl\u00e1sticos e oobiocl\u00e1sticos, com 50-60m de espessura. As forma\u00e7\u00f5es fazem parte da forma\u00e7\u00e3o c\u00e1rsica do Jur\u00e1ssico M\u00e9dio (Crispim, 1995).<br \/>\nEm termos estruturais, e com base na an\u00e1lise expedita da Carta Geol\u00f3gica de Portugal referida anteriormente, o Planalto de St. Ant\u00f3nio corresponde a um monoclinal com algumas flexuras, em que as forma\u00e7\u00f5es apresentam uma direc\u00e7\u00e3o regional que varia entre aproximadamente WNW-ESE e NW-SE, inclinando suavemente para Sul.<br \/>\nEste monoclinal \u00e9 cortado por uma s\u00e9rie de falhas com direc\u00e7\u00e3o aproximada WNW-ESE \u2013 NW-SE, muitas delas com preenchimento doler\u00edtico.<br \/>\nA zona em estudo (Crispim, 1995), \u00e9 atravessada por descontinuidades de orienta\u00e7\u00e3o aproximadamente NW-SE a WNW-ESSE, em conformidade com O sistema de falhas identificadas na Folha 27-A-Vila Nova de Our\u00e9m da Carta Geol\u00f3gica de Portugal \u00e0 escala 1\/50000, onde se observa que os acidentes mais pr\u00f3ximos t\u00eam direc\u00e7\u00e3o predominante WNW-ESE.<br \/>\nEnquadramento Hidrogeol\u00f3gico<br \/>\nA hidrogeologia do MCE continua a ser hoje em dia pouco conhecida. Cada uma das unidades geomorfol\u00f3gicas possui um n\u00famero muito limitado de nascentes permanentes para onde escoam as suas \u00e1guas subterr\u00e2neas. A unidade onde se situam as gruta alvo deste estudo, o Planalto de St. Ant\u00f3nio, drena as suas \u00e1guas sobretudo para a nascente do Rio Alviela, localizada a SE da cavidade (Costa Almeida et al, 2000). Admite-se tamb\u00e9m que o polje de Minde, tem um papel fundamental, \u00e0 escala do maci\u00e7o, na distribui\u00e7\u00e3o da circula\u00e7\u00e3o da \u00e1gua subterr\u00e2nea (Crispim, 1995).<br \/>\nPotencial espeleol\u00f3gico<\/p>\n<p>Como \u00e9 conhecido pela comunidade espeleol\u00f3gica, abundam no Planalto de Sto. Ant\u00f3nio e em particular no cabe\u00e7o dos Alecrineiros os algares. Estes s\u00e3o compostos por um ou mais po\u00e7os ligados entre si. A profundidade que os algares chegam a atingir, na zona do cabe\u00e7o dos Alecrineiros, varia desde os poucos metros at\u00e9 aos -220m do algar Alecrineiros Sul.&nbsp;<br \/>Tal concentra\u00e7\u00e3o e desenvolvimento de cavidades pode ser explicada por ser reunirem uma s\u00e9rie de condi\u00e7\u00f5es prop\u00edcias ao desenvolvimento de grutas. A saber:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; padding-right: 0.3em; padding-left: 2em; clear: both;\">\n<li style=\"padding: 0px;\">litologias (calc\u00e1rios do Jur\u00e1ssico M\u00e9dio) altamente carsific\u00e1veis;<\/li>\n<li style=\"padding: 0px;\">espessuras dessas litologias da ordem das largas centenas de metros (Manuppela et al, 2000);<\/li>\n<li style=\"padding: 0px;\">rede de fratura\u00e7\u00e3o bem desenvolvida, com fracturas com grau de abertura alto;<\/li>\n<li style=\"padding: 0px;\">precipita\u00e7\u00e3o consider\u00e1vel;<\/li>\n<li style=\"padding: 0px;\">amplitude topogr\u00e1fica, os terrenos do planalto chegam a ter mais de 500m acima do n\u00edvel do mar e mais de 430m acima da nascente &nbsp;do Alviela que se julga drenar o Planalto de Sto. Ant\u00f3nio.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Uma proposta de modelo espeleogen\u00e9tico<\/p>\n<p>Os po\u00e7os dos algares s\u00e3o controlados estruturalmente por descontinuidades subverticais, que se intersectam entre si.<br \/>As cavidades apresentam uma organiza\u00e7\u00e3o muito simples, a morfologia das passagens \u00e9, nos casos em que n\u00e3o se verificou uma destrui\u00e7\u00e3o por abatimentos, a da estrutura original, alta e estreita, mantendo de um modo grosseiro a forma da descontinuidade ao longo da qual se desenvolveram. Estas caracter\u00edsticas s\u00e3o definidas por (B\u00f6gli, 1980) como sendo de cavidades de origem vadosa prim\u00e1ria. As caneluras que se desenvolvem ao longo dos po\u00e7os s\u00e3o formadas pelo efeito corrosivo e erosivo da \u00e1gua que escorre, goteja (Baro\u00f1, 2003), ou pela pr\u00f3pria aspers\u00e3o da \u00e1gua, ao longo das paredes de fracturas subverticais, o que \u00e9 ali\u00e1s t\u00edpico do regime vadoso, (Lauritzen e Lundberg, 2000). Com base nas observa\u00e7\u00f5es acima referidas podemos afirmar que estas grutas s\u00e3o formada em regime vadoso.<br \/>Os algares desenvolvem-se a partir da \u00e1gua acumulada no epicarso. O epicarso \u00e9 uma zona superficial do carso, caracterizado por uma maior intensidade da fractura\u00e7\u00e3o e da carsifica\u00e7\u00e3o difusa (Klimchouck, 2000). O epicarso apresenta, merc\u00ea das caracter\u00edsticas antes referidas, uma maior permeabilidade, que a maior parte da zona vadosa subjacente, (Klimchouck, 2000), constituindo o suporte de um aqu\u00edfero suspenso. A \u00e1gua armazenada no epicarso drena para descontinuidades que se encontram na base do epicarso. Estas descontinuidades conduzem a \u00e1gua para o interior do maci\u00e7o em direc\u00e7\u00e3o aos colectores que se encontram em profundidade (Klimchouck, 2000). Ao longo das descontinuidades e enquanto a \u00e1gua se mant\u00e9m agressiva ou v\u00ea a sua agressividade renovada por fen\u00f3menos como a corros\u00e3o por mistura, vai ocorrendo a corros\u00e3o do calc\u00e1rio que tem como consequ\u00eancia o alargamento das descontinuidades e a forma\u00e7\u00e3o de po\u00e7os (Klimchouck, 2000). Ao longo destas descontinuidades, que se encontram na base do epicarso, desenvolvem-se, deste modo, grutas compostas essencialmente por po\u00e7os que conduzem a \u00e1gua at\u00e9 colectores no interior do maci\u00e7o (Klimchouck, 2000). Os colectores podem n\u00e3o estar geneticamente relacionados e nem sequer serem contempor\u00e2neos das cavidades que se desenvolveram na base do epicarso (Klimchouck, 2000). Esta liga\u00e7\u00e3o entre as cavidades da base do epicarso e o sistema de condutas ser\u00e1 feita, na maioria dos casos, atrav\u00e9s de zonas intranspon\u00edveis para o ser humano, tipicamente galerias que guiadas por uma camada ou por po\u00e7os de aspecto meandriforme controlados por descontinuidades (Klimchouck, 2000). Em muitos casos estas estruturas, que partem do fundo dos po\u00e7os est\u00e3o cobertas por blocos resultantes de abatimentos no interior da cavidade (Klimchouck, 2000).&nbsp;<br \/>A morfologia dos algares e o seu enquadramento apresenta muitas semelhan\u00e7as aos dos \u201cKarst Shafts\u201d descritos por Baro\u00f1, (Baro\u00f1, 2003). Por\u00e9m n\u00e3o \u00e9 claro se o esquema de desenvolvimento proposto por este autor se adapta completamente \u00e0s cavidades em estudo.<br \/>Fase embrion\u00e1ria. O algar come\u00e7a a desenvolver a partir da infiltra\u00e7\u00e3o de \u00e1gua proveniente do epicarso. A \u00e1gua, acumulada no epicarso, provem da precipita\u00e7\u00e3o. A infiltra\u00e7\u00e3o d\u00e1-se atrav\u00e9s de descontinuidades pr\u00e9-existentes. As cavidades s\u00e3o geralmente muito estreitas e sem liga\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 superf\u00edcie. A corros\u00e3o por filme de \u00e1gua \u00e9 provavelmente o principal processo espeleogen\u00e9tico. Admite-se (Baro\u00f1, 2003) que ao longo de uma mesma fractura se podem desenvolver v\u00e1rias cavidades separadas, tendo cada cavidade uma fonte de \u00e1gua pr\u00f3pria. Temos de colocar a hip\u00f3tese dos v\u00e1rios po\u00e7os que constituem uma dada gruta terem um desenvolvimento em separado, isto explicaria o facto de algumas das grutas serem constitu\u00eddas por uma s\u00e9rie de po\u00e7os com desenvolvimento paralelo e ligados de uma forma geral por passagens estreitas.<br \/>Fase Jovem. Devido \u00e0 corros\u00e3o provocada pelas \u00e1guas de infiltra\u00e7\u00e3o d\u00e1-se um aumento da abertura das descontinuidades. O principal processo espeleogen\u00e9tico deve-se agora aos pingos e gotas de \u00e1gua que caem verticalmente atrav\u00e9s de uma atmosfera rica em CO2, conferindo \u00e1 \u00e1gua um elevado poder corrosivo. A \u00e1gua ataca intensamente a rocha calc\u00e1ria. Nos locais onde as gotas de \u00e1gua caem formam-se depress\u00f5es. \u00c1 medida que os po\u00e7os se aprofundam as depress\u00f5es passam a caneluras subverticais. Esta \u00e9 a fase da maior taxa de crescimento do po\u00e7o. As caneluras s\u00e3o a parte dominante do volume do po\u00e7o e chegam a atingir dezenas de metros de comprimento e di\u00e2metro de v\u00e1rios dec\u00edmetros. A drenagem ocorre ao longo da superf\u00edcie das fraturas. A cavidade continua a ser um canal embri\u00f3nico inacess\u00edvel. \u00c0 corros\u00e3o devida a filmes de \u00e1gua e a abatimentos adicionam-se \u00e0 corros\u00e3o causada pelo gotejamento, por\u00e9m t\u00eam pouca influ\u00eancia no alargamento dos po\u00e7os. Todos os processos de forma\u00e7\u00e3o de po\u00e7os s\u00e3o acentuados na intersec\u00e7\u00e3o de fraturas.<br \/>Fase da abertura do po\u00e7o. Esta fase caracteriza-se pelo alargamento das cavidades, dando-se nesta fase (Baro\u00f1, 2003) a abertura da boca da cavidade \u00e0 superf\u00edcie. Os po\u00e7os desenvolvem-se n\u00e3o s\u00f3 em profundidade, mas tamb\u00e9m para cima, pela ac\u00e7\u00e3o de filmes e de corros\u00e3o por condensa\u00e7\u00e3o. A condensa\u00e7\u00e3o por corros\u00e3o \u00e9 mais intensa no topo dos po\u00e7os, na base do epicarso, especialmente durante o inverno. A desnuda\u00e7\u00e3o da superf\u00edcie, corros\u00e3o do subsolo, os efeitos mec\u00e2nicos e qu\u00edmicos das ra\u00edzes das \u00e1rvores combinam-se para permitir a abertura da gruta \u00e0 superf\u00edcie. A depress\u00e3o aparece inicialmente de uma forma incipiente sendo posteriormente alargada.<br \/>Fases posteriores. \u00c1 medida que se alargam, os po\u00e7o paralelos e canais retiram cada vez mais \u00e1gua suspensa do epicarso. O aprofundamento dos po\u00e7os diminui gradualmente \u00e0 medida que menos \u00e1gua fica dispon\u00edvel para uma dada abertura. Nesta fase come\u00e7am a depositar-se concre\u00e7\u00f5es. Estes dep\u00f3sitos tendem a esconder as formas de dissolu\u00e7\u00e3o originais.<br \/>\u00c1 medida que a boca da gruta se alarga, come\u00e7am a cair por ela e, a preencher parcialmente o fundo do po\u00e7o, detritos como blocos, solo e restos org\u00e2nicos. A mat\u00e9ria org\u00e2nica em decomposi\u00e7\u00e3o aumenta a concentra\u00e7\u00e3o de CO2&nbsp;na atmosfera da gruta, especialmente na base dos po\u00e7os. A atmosfera enriquecida em CO2&nbsp;permite aumentar a agressividade da \u00e1gua e ajuda a aprofundar os po\u00e7os. &nbsp;A continua\u00e7\u00e3o do preenchimento da gruta com material proveniente da superf\u00edcie, abatimentos e desnuda\u00e7\u00e3o da superf\u00edcie podem levar \u00e0 colmata\u00e7\u00e3o da cavidade.<br \/>\nGrutas alvo dos trabalhos<\/p>\n<p>Os trabalhos foram realizados nas seguintes grutas: Chouso dos Alecrineiros, Curral das \u00c9guas, algar da Estrada, algar do Murete, algar do Vento, algar da \u00c1guia, algar do Ponteiro, algar dos Amores e algar da Pedra que dan\u00e7a.<\/p>\n<figure>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/gem.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Fig.6-1.jpg\" data-elementor-open-lightbox=\"yes\" data-elementor-lightbox-title=\"Figura 6 \u2013 Foto sat\u00e9lite com localiza\u00e7\u00e3o das grutas (clique para ampliar).
